Are you ready to take your career underground and be part of an exciting mining exploration project? Osisko Mining is hiring Miner Helpers to support operations at our Windfall Lake exploration site.
This on-site position follows a 15-day work / 13-day rest schedule, making it an ideal opportunity for those looking for steady employment with great benefits.
Key Responsibilities
Underground Maintenance & Equipment Handling
- Perform general maintenance in common areas and sanitary units
- Conduct basic repairs on fixed equipment like pumping systems
- Carry and transport gear, materials, and equipment
- Assist mining contractors with various underground tasks
Operating Mining Equipment
- Operate mobile mining machinery (training provided)
- Maintain fire extinguishers and environmental safety kits
Construction & Support Work
- Build and install shelves and conduct small construction tasks
- Help ensure safety in shared work areas (cleaning, lighting, etc.)
Safety & Compliance
- Report any workplace hazards to your supervisor
- Follow strict occupational health and safety standards
- Adhere to environmental policies
Collaboration & Teamwork
- Work closely with Aboriginal communities, business partners, and colleagues
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Training
Diploma in professional studies in ore mining 2-3 years of underground mining experience Valid driver’s license Explosives permit Completed mining units 1-2-3-4-5 & 7
Technical Skills (Preferred, Not Required) Forklift certification (Skytrack type) Asset Mining tractor operation Asset Carpentry & small construction skills Asset Basic mechanical knowledge Asset
Personal Qualities Strong work ethic & reliability Comfortable in physical & underground environments Ability to adapt to fast-changing conditions Team player with great communication skills
