Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning of all facility areas including gym floors, change rooms, common areas, and office spaces
- Vacuum, mop, dust, and sanitise surfaces to maintain a hygienic environment for staff and youth members
- Clean and disinfect toilets, showers, sinks, and mirrors in locker rooms to a high standard
- Empty rubbish bins and replace liners, ensuring waste is disposed of properly
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and toiletries such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or equipment damage to the facility manager promptly
- Follow work health and safety practices including correct handling and storage of cleaning chemicals
Qualifications
Experience in contemporary cleaning practices within a commercial environment such as a gym, school, or community centre is required. You must have knowledge of work health and safety practices related to cleaning duties, including the safe use of cleaning agents and equipment. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building positive relationships with staff and club members. You must hold or be willing to obtain a Working With Children Check (Blue Card) as no card means no start, and restricted person legislation applies. A National Police Check will be required upon commencement. Reliable transport to Yeppoon is recommended.
