General Laborers Required in Canada

Role and Responsibilities of General Laborers:

Successful candidates will place in one of the following areas:

• Fiber and Site Services
  • General clean-up and dust mitigation.
• Parts Warehouse (Stores)
  • Issue safety equipment and materials from inventory.
  • Operate forklift, perform stock counts, and wash coveralls.
  • Picking and packing.
• Power and Recovery Plant
  • Departmental inspection/testing rounds.
  • Working with console operators to troubleshoot in the field.

Requirements for Job:

• Experience working in an industrial setting preferred.
• Safety consciousness and awareness
• The desire to grow and succeed.
• Attention to detail, problem solving, communication and time management skills.
• All departments require a High School Diploma or GED
• For consideration in Power and Recovery, please provide proof of the following, as per our Labour Agreement:
  • Successful completion of two of the following three subjects: Chemistry 20, Math 20-2, or Physics 20, OR post-secondary education completion of equivalent courses; OR
  • A 4th Class Power Engineering certificate.
  • NOTE: applicants must submit proof of educational requirements (i.e. diplomas, transcripts) along with their resume.

Additional Information:

All departments are critical to the mill’s success and these entry-level roles form the foundation upon which that success is built. You will place in one of three departments to fill temporary vacancies, with potential to move into other areas of the mill on a permanent basis in the future.
