Responsibilities of Delivery Driver:
- Safely and efficiently drive a delivery vehicle to deliver mail, packages, and other items.
- Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products
- Professionalism in customer service
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Assemble, install and set-up merchandise/products
- Prepare, package and restock goods
- Load and unload goods
- Use maps and other trip planning aids
- Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems
- Pay and receive payments for goods
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
- Load and unload items from the delivery vehicle.
- Ensure that items are delivered to the correct recipient and location.
- Keep accurate records of deliveries and pickups.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations!
- Maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of the delivery vehicle.
Requirements for Delivery Driver:
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to lift heavy items.
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of local roads and traffic laws
- Previous experience as a delivery driver is an asset.
