Key Responsibilities of Warehouse Assistant:
- Receive and check incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and quality of goods.
- Pick and pack orders for dispatch, ensuring that the correct products and quantities are selected.
- Assist with stocktaking and inventory management, including cycle counting and reconciling stock discrepancies.
- Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, including keeping aisles clear and storage areas tidy.
- General warehousing duties – picking & packing orders, inventory controls
- Customer deliveries
- Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of products and systems
- Positive attitude and ability to engage in conversations that develop the branch.
- Forklift Operation
- Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements for Warehouse Assistant:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment preferred.
- Forklift license is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Good communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Intermediate computer skills – SAP is advantageous.
- Prior experience in a trade retail or warehouse would be preferred but not essential.
- Current Driver’s license & Forklift license
- Knowledge of the cabinetry, fabrication or hardware market will be highly regarded.
- Excellent communications skills with a natural ability to build rapport with customers.
- A good level of physical fitness and the ability to lift up to 20kgs occasionally.
