Responsibilities of Stockperson:

• To rehearse and learn any roles or characters allocated. To follow direction given from the Show Director and VRTP management team.
• Ensure all animals are treat with care and respect. Encourage all animals to perform to their highest ability.
• Follow the direction of the Equine Manager regarding animal behaviors and training.
• Maintain all animal areas, backstage areas and stables to the highest standards. To ensure a clean and safe environment for all team members and animals.
• Ensure all show equipment, costumes and saddlery, are maintain and used to the highest safety standards and all pre-show and post-show checks are complete as directed.
• Responsible for maintaining your fitness levels and physical attributes required to fulfil the role.

Requirements for Stockperson:

  • To attend physicals as directed by VRTP and maintain physical fitness for the role.
  • Must be available to work afternoon/evenings over a rotating roster.
  • Able to display exceptional riding skills and horsemanship abilities.
  • Experience in working with other livestock (e.g. cattle, sheep, work dogs) is desirable.
  • Previous performing in a live theatrical environment is also desirable.
