Key Responsibilities of Warehouse Assistant:

  • Receive and check incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and quality of goods.
  • Pick and pack orders for dispatch, ensuring that the correct products and quantities are selected.
  • Assist with stocktaking and inventory management, including cycle counting and reconciling stock discrepancies.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, including keeping aisles clear and storage areas tidy.
  • General warehousing duties – picking & packing orders, inventory controls
  • Customer deliveries
  • Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of products and systems
  • Positive attitude and ability to engage in conversations that develop the branch.
  • Forklift Operation
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements for Warehouse Assistant:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment preferred.
  • Forklift license is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Good communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Intermediate computer skills – SAP is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a trade retail or warehouse would be preferred but not essential.
  • Current Driver’s license & Forklift license
  • Knowledge of the cabinetry, fabrication or hardware market will be highly regarded.
  • Excellent communications skills with a natural ability to build rapport with customers.
  • A good level of physical fitness and the ability to lift up to 20kgs occasionally.
