Responsibilities of Librarian:
- Implementing Library skills tutorials for students
- Promoting the Library through displays & activities
- Managing an annual budget
- Ensuring the Library supports the aims & objectives of the school.
- Establish and manage student, staff and volunteer helpers.
- Establish local and international network of outside speakers and coordinate a term time schedule of visits.
- Maintain the strategic and day-to-day management of the Library
- Lead the development and promotion of the Library
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to integrate with the IB PYP curriculum in order to enhance the quality of the learning experience of the students.
Accountabilities of Librarian:
- Resourcing, selecting, maintaining and promoting stock, print and digital.
- Ordering, classifying, cataloging and overseeing all processes necessary for the running of the library.
- Administering & maintaining the loan system and general good order of Library; stock checks, weeding, etc
Eligibility Criteria for Librarian:
- Proficient IT knowledge is essential.
- Previous school-based library experience would be preferable.
- Knowledge of Oliver library system would be an advantage but not essential.
- Applicants must be a permanent Hong Kong resident or possess a valid visa to work in Hong Kong.
