Job of Field Hands Farm Worker in Australia

Costa Group is seeking experienced Field Hand farm worker to join their job of seasonal harvest operations at their Selma Road, Lochearn, Harts Road, Dimbulah and Conighans farming operations on a Full-Time basis. Selected Candidate will be responsible for ensuring that their daily operations are smooth, efficient and meet the quality standards we’ve set amongst their farm operations team. Reporting into the Farm Managers, he will be responsible for ensuring a high level of delivery with regard to your assigned farm. If you are interested, they invite you to apply.

Responsibilities of Job:

• Under guidance from the farm manager, ensure growth of high grade produce for harvest.
• Ensure that pre- and post-harvest programs are effectively carried through, as set by the farm manager.
• Spray operating and slashing.
• Ensure that harvest activities follow clear quality standards to ensure that produce is not damaged.
• Complete pest and disease control activities, as set by the Agronomy team.
• Prepare and apply chemicals to the orchard to specification, as set by the Agronomy team.
• Supervision of staff from time to time, including operations and harvest front line staff
• Maintain farm equipment, performing preventative maintenance where required.

Eligibility Criteria for Job:

• 3+ years’ experience in farming within orchards
• Experience in tractor operation, spraying and slashing.
• Experience with citrus pest and disease is desirable.
• Experience in supervision of international workers is desirable.
• Chemical certificate
• Ability to demonstrate leadership amongst the team.
• Ability to teach and coach international workers.
• Understanding of safe working practices as it relates to farm operations.
