Hairdresser Job in Australia

Serco is looking for a skilled hairdresser to join their dynamic team at New South Wales Australia. As a hairdresser, you will play an integral part within the Welfare and Engagement Team by helping and improving detainee’s overall health and wellbeing. You will provide basic haircuts and styling services to detainees. You will also set up, monitor, and manage all equipment whilst making sure it is safe, clean and in working condition.

Responsibilities of Hairdresser / Barber:

• Support the health and wellbeing of detainees by providing quality hairdressing/barbering services to detainees consisting of a basic haircut and if appropriate facilities are available, a hair wash.
• Create a schedule/plan for regular hairdressing/barbering service for detainees.
• Accurately record the detainees who have received hairdressing/barbering services and provide these reports as required.
• Manage all stock and resources ensuring sufficient quantities are maintained.

Skills and Experience for Hairdresser / Barber:

• 2 years’ experience in the delivery of hairdressing or barbering services.
• Certificate III or relevant qualification in Hairdressing and/or barbering that meet community standards.
• Ability to cut both male and female hair.

• Hold and maintain HLTAID009 Provide CPR and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificates with at least 6 months currency on the certificate.
• Maintain a current Working with Children certificate in accordance with the relevant state or territory child protection legislation (as required).
